More properties to get flood warning

Have your say

AN extra 6,000 properties in a floodplain have been signed up to receive free flood warnings by telephone.

Since the floods of 2007 an opt-out flood warning scheme was launched by the Environment Agency in the Boston area to provide people with an up-to-date warning service directly to their telephones.

The scheme has now been extended to cover a further 6,000 residential and commercial properties in villages including Kirton Holme, Sutterton, Algarkirk, Swineshead, Bicker and Kirton End.

All affected properties should have been informed via recorded telephone message.
