A Whaplode man who drove his moped home to get his bank card was found to be more than three times the legal alcohol limit.

Jacek Miczko (41), of Morchella Row, who admitted the offence, was stopped by police at 12.30pm on September 22 in Pinchbeck Road, Spalding and was arrested following a positive breath test with a reading of 132 micrograms of alcohol in his breath, the legal limit being 35.

He also admitted having no insurance, driving licence or test certificate.

Miczko had admitted the offence last month and was appearing for sentence following a report from the Probation Service.

The court heard that Miczko had a similar conviction in 2017 when he had been banned from driving for 18 months.

Beris Brickles, in mitigation, said Miczko had a 'poor history of alcohol abuse' and had been drinking heavily since he was 13.

He said his only family member in this country was his brother, who was also an alcoholic.

Miczko was banned from driving for four years and ordered to undergo a six month alcohol rehabilitation order as well as 15 rehabilitation days.

He was also fined £100 and ordered to pay a total of £180 in court costs and charges.
