Spalding-area growers give mixed reaction to food strategy

The Government’s food strategy has received a mixed response from some of the area’s growers and farmers.

Quadring area grower John Bratley says the recognition of horticulture in the strategy is overdue and hopes that this will go some way to rectify previous policies.

He said that the industry is very efficient without Government support, citing the agricultural subsidies paid to farmers.
