Marking ten years of gallery

Have your say

A SPECIAL exhibition is being staged to mark the tenth anniversary of a village art gallery.

In August 2002 hundreds of artists, collectors and spectators descended upon Swineshead for the opening of the Arts Coritani galleries, a project which had been five years in the making.

The event was hosted by gallery owners Rosi and Colan Campbell and the first to exhibit was internationally-known artist Andrzej Kuhn, of Frieston Shore, whose paintings hang in many major overseas collections as well as in those of private collectors in the UK.

On Saturday the event will be repeated to mark the tenth anniversary of that day.

The gallery’s Deja Vu exhibition will again feature a major show of works by Andrzej Kuhn along with an opening ceremony embellished by the Swineshead Silver Band in the company of many of those who have exhibited, visited and contributed to the success of the project.

The exhibition preview is from 6pm-8pm and the show runs until August 25.

The galleries are open 9am-5pm, Tuesday to Saturday and the entire exhibition may be viewed online from August 8 on the gallery’s website
