Whaplode fitness instructor gearing up for third half-marathon

A fitness instructor is gearing up to take on her third half-marathon to raise money for a good cause.

Mariola Pisarkiewcz (38), of Whaplode, will be taking part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham on September 26 to raise money for the Stroke Association.

Over the years, Miss Pisarkiewcz has undertaken a number of fundraising events for the charity in memory of close friend Ruth Peet (92), formerly of Whaplode, who died in August 2019 after a series of strokes.

This is an important issue to Miss Pisarkiewcz, who has trained to help stroke victims with their rehabilitation.

She is hoping to raise as much money as possible to support the work of the charity.

Miss Pisarkiewcz said: “I am feeling confident about the run.

“I am doing it in memory of members of my family so I will be thinking about them.”
