Firefighters use phone mast to track down man trapped in car at Fleet

Staff at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue control room traced a man trapped in his car in a ditch via a phone mast in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

Crews from Holbeach, Long Sutton and Spalding used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the man on Wash Road, Fleet at 3.45am.

The casualty had called emergency services on his mobile phone after a collision but had no idea of his location and was disorientated after the accident.
