Man dies after accident on A16 near Surfleet




Police are appealing for information after a man died in a road accident on the A16 yesterday (Friday, November 29).

Emergency services were called out at 2.45pm to the scene of a collision which involved two vehicles - a blue Scania HGV and a white Ford Transit van. It happened between the Surfleet and Sutterton roundabouts.

Police have today confirmed that the passenger in the van, a man in his 30s from the Boston area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van's driver, a man also in his 30s, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, with injuries which are reported to be not life-threatening nor life-altering.

He has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident.
