Disability forum events in Crowland, Donington, Holbeach, Spalding and Sutton Bridge
People with disabilities and those who support and care for them are invited to make their voices heard at a series of forums.
Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service has teamed up with South Holland District Council to host the events in Sutton Bridge, Crowland, Donington, Holbeach and Spalding during October.
The idea of the events is to give those who consider themselves to have a disability the chance to have some input on what they would want from a new group and to explore the viability and development of a new South Holland Disability Forum.
The district previously had a disability forum but numbers dwindled and it ceased to exist at the beginning of 2018.
LCVS and the council hope to resurrect it but want to ensure it focuses on what matters to the people it serves.
Katy Gale, who is leading the project on behalf of LCVS, said: “We want as many people who have a disability or who support someone with a disability to come along to one of these events and have an informal chat and share their views in a positive, respectful environment.
“We want to make these events as accessible as possible, so please do let us know if there is anything we can do to make it easier for you to participate.
“We want to hear what you have to say so we can create a group that focuses on what is important to you.”
