A call has been made for women to join a skincare and make-up workshop in Spalding for those struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment.

Last July, national cancer support charity, Look Good Feel Better (LGFB), launched its free skincare and make-up masterclasses at Essential Wellbeing to support local women living with cancer.

The two-hour sessions are now held once a month at the London Road clinic and are led by trained beauty volunteers who teach the ladies vital skills, such as how to draw on missing eyebrows and eyelashes as well as coping with changes to the skin.

The masterclasses are available to women currently undergoing treatment for any type of cancer and is a chance for them to forget about the invasive treatments and indulge in an evening of pure pampering.

It isn’t just about make-up, ladies also get to spend time talking and sharing stories with people in a similar situation.

Look Good Feel Better masterclass manager Dulcie
Rowe said: “Each masterclass is always filled with laughter – it’s truly amazing to see the impact that make-up can have.

“The ladies arrive feeling a little self-conscious and they leave glowing and full of confidence. If you or someone you know is living with cancer then please do book onto a masterclass – you won’t regret it!”

The next masterclass is next Monday, 10am to noon. To book your place call 01775 249425.

LGFB is the only cancer support charity providing practical support for women and teenagers struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment.

Every workshop and masterclass is run by a team of beauty volunteers, who take the women through a specially designed skincare and make-up regime.
