Make sure you're eligible to vote
Residents in South Holland will be receiving annual canvass forms through their letterboxes from Monday.
The form will be addressed to "the occupier" and will contain details of all those who currently live in the property aged 16 or over and who are currently registered to vote to make sure they are able to have their say at future elections.
Residents should make sure the information contained on the form is correct and up-to-date. If all the information is correct, all residents need to do is sign and return it as soon as possible to avoid any future reminders.
If there’s any changes that need to be made, residents are being asked to let South Holland District Council know, where possible, by either phone or online. The council is offering these cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly methods of returning the forms, but if residents cannot respond in these ways, they can still post the completed form back in a pre-paid envelope.
Coun Tracey Carter, portfolio holder for governance and customer, said: “We urge as many people as possible to complete and sign the form so their voice is heard in any future elections.
“If you’re over 16, or have someone living with you that is, please don’t miss the opportunity to get yourself on the electoral register.”
Details of how residents can confirm their details will be printed on the form. Residents wanting more information can contact the SHDC elections team on 01775 761161 or email email@example.com.
