Elderly residents in Sutton Bridge no longer have an excuse to be home alone if the popularity of the village’s Diamond Luncheon Club is anything to go by.

Home-cooked food, quizzes, bingo and even curling have drawn senior citizens to the club held every Monday between 10.30am and 3pm at The Curlew Centre in Bridge Road.

The club was started at the same time as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and member Molly Leonard said: “We’ve been going for almost a year, we have 19 members and it’s doing well because everyone loves it and looks forward to coming each week.

“Our oldest member is 97 and it would be good for people in Sutton Bridge to see what we do and how we have a good laugh all day long.” Photo (TIM WILSON): SG180213-128TW.
