A DEAF man who became abusive while drunk to staff at a home improvement store in Spalding has been given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Clive Parkinson (57) was also told to pay £45 court costs after shouting and swearing at staff at EYG on Commercial Road when he could not find his way home to Fulney Lane North.
He admitted using threatening words and behaviour when he appeared at Spalding Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Daniel Paulson, prosecuting, said Parkinson was arrested after the manager was subjected to repeated abuse mid-afternoon on March 13.
He said police asked him to leave before making the arrest.
Solicitor Dav Naghen, defending, said Parkinson lived a “sheltered” life because of his hearing problems. He described how he had run out of alcohol and went to the shop to buy some more but got lost.
Mr Naghen said Parkinson became “frustrated”.
He added: “He accepts that he was in the wrong.”
