TRIBUTE has been paid to a Long Sutton parish councillor who died last week.
Coun Michael Limbert (62), who served the community twice as a councillor in the 1980s and more recently over the last five years, lost a battle with cancer on Wednesday.
Speaking at a parish council meeting on Thursday, vice-chairman Coun John Clarey said: “He has been a friend as well as a colleague. He had been very poorly for the last year.
“He was on the mend and doing very well but must have taken a turn for the worse.”
A minute’s silence was held in honour of Coun Limbert.
Coun Clarey added: “I would like to say how sorry I was to hear the news. He has been a good councillor in his time. “I remember in the 1980s when I was chairman and he was my vice-chairman. We worked very well together.”
Coun Limbert leaves a wife, Christine.
