Joy Taylor retired from the 2nd Long Sutton Girls’ Brigade after 46 years’ involvement in 1994.

Miss Taylor had joined the company in 1948 aged five, and later spent 25 years as a leader. She had handed over the reins to Lorraine Hallam.

The girls surprised her with a party in Long Sutton Baptist. Church attended by Commandant of the South Lincs District Marilyn Robinson, who gave a speech.
