Long Sutton and Spalding care home staff rewarded

Homes in Long Sutton and Spalding triumphed at the recent Lincolnshire Care Awards.

The awards, held in Lincoln, celebrate the outstanding care workers, teams and organisations from across the county.

Susan Palethorpe received her award from Glen Garrod, Executive Director of Adult Care and Community Wellbeing at Lincolnshire County Council, and award sponsor Dr Sharon Black from the University of Lincoln

Stephanie Hewat-Jaboor and Susan Palethorpe, both of Cedar Falls Care Home in Spalding, won the Nursing in Social Care awards, Stephanie for End of Life Care and Susan for Dementia Care.

Viv Smith, of Cedar Falls, was highly commended in the Residential Care Award category.

Nadine Vail, of Kimberley Care Home in Long Sutton won Care Leadership awards.

Two staff from Kimberley also received Highly Commended awards: Linda Morris for Outstanding Learner and Lisa Jenkins in the Rising Star category.

• Beech Lodge Nursing Home in Spalding has been named a Top 20 Recommended Care Home in the East Midlands in the carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards.

The awards highlight the most recommended care homes in each region of the UK, based on over 55,000 reviews and recommendations from residents, family and friends.
