Pictured are Lieut E H Gooch (above right) who in 1915 led the Spalding Company into the battle that resulted in the deaths of 11 men from South Holland.

The Spalding Territorials were taking part in the Hohenzollern Redoubt at the end of the Battle of Loos.

Lieut Norman Richard Jepson (left), of the Royal Fusiliers, had been killed in action in the Dardanelles.

He was grandson of the late Richard Jepson, of Spalding, and his father had worked at Maples & Son in Spalding.
