Deepings Lions Club are supporting the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal with fundraising collections at Tesco’s in Market Deeping on March 27 and 28.

Every penny collected will be spent in local communities, helping to provide free nursing care to terminally ill patients in their own homes and Marie Curie hospices.

Lions president Tony Plunkett said: “We can fund one hour of free nursing care for someone by raising just £20. Giving a small donation and wearing the iconic Marie Curie daffodil pin can make a big difference.”

Charlotte Jackson, community fundraiser at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “Terminal illnesses touch everyone and Lions fundraising will enable Marie Curie to deliver additional nursing care from the generosity of local people.

The Great Daffodil Appeal has huge public support and has raised more than £70 million since 1986.
