South Holland Open Arts Exhibition has been running in Spalding since 1999.

The event, which aims to showcase the best work created by professional and amateur artists in South Holland and the surrounding region, has traditionally attracted painters, photographers and visitors from all over the East of England.

Entries are open for the 15th South Holland Open Arts Exhibition.

This takes place at South Holland Centre in Spalding from Thursday, March 5 to Thursday, March 12 when all selected works will be on display.

Artists over the age of 14 living or working in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Norfolk, Leicestershire or Fenland can enter – and there is no entry fee.

Artists can submit up to three works in any of the following media: three dimensional work, photography, digital, oil, pencil, pastel, watercolour, acrylic and gouache.

However, works entered into the exhibition in previous years should not be re-submitted.

Terms of entry can be seen on the sholland.gov.uk website, but artwork must be original – no copies or reproductions will be accepted – and produced by the artist named on the Open Arts entry form.

Wall hung work should not project more than 10cm from the frame/canvas.

Work selected for the exhibition must be strung securely across the back between two mirror plates/hooks which are not more than 5cm down from the top of the work.

The organisers say pottery and ceramics are not eligible for the exhibition because of their fragility.

Enter by completing an Open Arts entry form and submitting it to the Community Development team by Friday, January 30.

The entry form is available from www.sholland.gov.uk
