UPDATE: Man arrested and charged with robbery of building society in Spalding




LATEST (Tuesday, April 2, 11.10am): Police have now confirmed that the man arrested and charged with robbery on Friday had targeted the Nottingham Building Society in Sheep Market, Spalding.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "We were called to a commercial premises on Sheep Market, Spalding, following reports of a robbery in which cash was taken. Following our enquiries, one man was arrested.

"Matthew Dye (33), of The Meadows, Spalding, has been charged with robbery and remanded to court.”

"Dye is charged with: 'On 29/03/2019 at Spalding Lincolnshire, robbing Nottingham Building Society of money to the value of £1,040.”

PREVIOUSLY: Tuesday, April 2, 10.26am):

A man has been charged with robbery following an incident in Spalding on Friday (March 29).

Police were seen in Sheep Market at around 4pm and later confirmed they had arrested and charged 33-year-old Matthew Dye.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We were called to a commercial premises on Sheep Market, Spalding, following reports of a robbery in which cash was taken. Following our enquiries, one man was arrested.

"Matthew Dye (33), of The Meadows, Spalding, has been charged with robbery and remanded to court.”

Police have not said which commercial premises was targeted.
