Police with taser arrest knifeman in Spalding

Police officers with tasers were called to reports of a man with a knife in the New Road area of Spalding on Saturday night.

Inspector Gareth Boxall, neighbourhood policing inspector for South Holland, confirmed that a 21-year-man from the Boston area was arrested on suspicion on possessing a folding lock knife after the man was reported to the police at about 8.30pm.

The knife was recovered and the man released under investigation.

Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man from Leicestershire, has been questioned about the theft of a pocket watch and foreign currency from a house in Pinchbeck.

The man was arrested on Thursday, a day after a house in Church Street was broken into and goods stolen, including gold-plated watch.

It happened between 11.30am and 1pm on Wednesday, July 4, but the man was eventually released under investigation.
