DISGUSTED staff at a cat rescue charity shop in Holbeach have spoken out after a man “threw” a kitten through its door telling them to “look after it”.
The incident happened so fast at the Spotty Dog Cat Rescue shop in Park Road on Thursday that a volunteer did not realise what the person had left until he saw the kitten moving around.
Owner Janet Green said the man who came into the shop at about 3.30pm is thought to have been in his 20s and may have driven off in a small white van.
She said: “Credit to him for not dumping it on the roadside but it’s still not good behaviour.
“It’s definitely abuse of animals – tossing it like an old pair of shoes.”
The black kitten, which is in good health, has been named Pandora. Janet believes she is about 11-weeks-old.
Janet added: “My volunteer was so shocked. When he first told me what happened I thought he was pulling my leg. I thought surely no one would do that but they did.”
