Kitesurfer’s sea rescue

A LIFEBOAT was launched to help a Gedney Drove End kitesurfer after he ran into trouble off the Norfolk coast.

Witnesses dialled 999 after seeing Roya Pack (38) struggling to get back to shore after losing his board in the water at Snettisham on Monday.

By the time the crew arrived Mr Pack had been helped to safety by a fellow kitesurfer.

He was uninjured, but exhausted by his efforts to get back to the beach.

On the RNLI Facebook page Mr Pack thanked the lifeboat crew, saying: “Thanks for coming out guys. It was a long swim. Keep up the good work.”
