Staff and pupils at Kirton Primary School are celebrating after being named among the top in England, following their Key Stage 2 results.
A letter from the Department of Education congratulated them on the high level of progress students have made in reading, writing and maths.
Executive head teacher Nicky Donley said: “While we knew that our results were good, and have recently discovered they are the best in Lincolnshire, we had no idea that they placed us in the top two per cent of schools in England until we received the letter.
“Kirton Primary School is lucky to have an enthusiastic, dedicated and talented staff that strives to design and provide the best possible for curriculum for its pupils.
“The school has an innovative shop and bank, has achieved a multitude of sporting successes and has high expectations in subjects such as art, science and music.
“We believe that this approach to teaching has developed our children’s love of learning. It is the children’s love of learning that has led to academic success.”
