REVIEW: Elvis impersonator JD King at the South Holland Centre, Spalding
After being at massive Elvis fan for many years, I was excited to hear impersonator JD King was coming to Spalding.
Taking my seat early on Saturday night, the lights dimmed and ‘Elvis’ came on stage wearing a gold sequinned jacket, with his opening song Thats Alright (Mama) - one of Elvis’ early songs.
The rest of the evening ‘Elvis’ performed songs from throughout his career, with many costume changes.
The finale saw him in his trade mark white jumpsuit covered in jewels and rhinestones as he sang ‘Wonder of You’ and ‘American Trilogy’ and came back out for his encore singing ‘Suspicious Minds’.
J D King is not only the best Elvis vocalist I have
ever heard, his ability to capture and stun the audience is to be admired.
He was brilliantly energetic and interactive with the audience, especially the women, giving them kisses and scarfs after mopping his brow.
His six-piece band The Burning Love Band, and two support singers The Sweet Soul Singers were superb and completed the whole Elvis experience.
