Spalding junior tennis players create a mural for their club

Junior tennis players have taken part in a competition to design a club mural.

The mural, which has been created for the equipment container at the back of the courts at Spalding Town Tennis Club in Clay Lake, was designed by Emily Walker and Ryan Bridge.

The winners had their designs combined and Sign Design Ltd in Spalding created an acrylic, weatherproof board featuring the mural which has been mounted at the club.

The winners were also presented with a £25 Sports Direct voucher by South Holland District Councillors Harry Drury and Angela Newton.

Amanda Halifax, of Spalding Town Tennis Club said: "Coun Newton and Coun Drury very kindly came along to see the junior players in action and despite the wet weather nothing hindered their play."

The club offers many different group and individual coaching sessions led by Glenn Perkins and Ellie Blackbourn, with junior coaching taking place on a Saturday morning and adult sessions during the week.
