HOME-Start South Holland had its own agenda when it invited a massive 110 adults and children to a Jubilee big lunch on Wednesday.
There was a packed lunch and Jubilee games such as pin the tail on the corgi, but in fact the family support service is coming up for its fourth anniversary and so treated the free lunch at Weston Village Hall as a Home-Start celebration.
“I think the inspiration for it is that we have been running for four years and wanted to celebrate the success we have achieved to date,” said senior co-ordinator Mary Hutson.
Past and present families and volunteers enjoyed the party, which was supported by Lincolnshire Co-operative as well as local supporters, and raffle tickets were given to every family that attended as well as being sold to help cover costs.
Games and activities included a treasure hunt in which families hunted for the Queen in Buckingham Palace, a crown decorating task resulting in a crown to wear, and red, white and blue paintings which will hopefully be used in a mural in due course.
