There’s nothing woolly about the reason a group of women meet at Weston Community Hall each Thursday.
They meet to knit, but are equally happy if people turn up with other craft work or simply for a cup of tea and a natter.
The 14 people who turn up regularly to Come Knit With Us and their busy fingers also do useful work, currently making clothing for the neonatal unit at Pilgrim Hospital at Boston.
Members have also sold work or donated the proceeds of some of their knitting to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance , recently handing over a cheque for £200 to representatives Tom and Heather Chambers (pictured standing centre).
The group is run by Miena Pope, and Liz Taylor, who helps, said: “We do all sorts of different types of knitting and quite a lot of charity knitting. We meet every Thursday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm and people are welcome to come and join us or bring along sewing if they want or any craft work if they don’t knit, or they can just come along for a cup of tea and a chat.” Photo: SG060314-122NG
