The sound of beautiful voices raised in song and drifting from Kirton Town Hall may attract newcomers – at least Boston Choral Society hopes so.

The society practices at the hall every Thursday evening, starting next Thursday (7.30pm-9.30pm) and is actively seeking new members in all parts – soprano, alto, tenor and bass.

The successful and growing choral society performs several concerts each year, including a pre-Christmas concert at Kirton Town Hall on Thursday, December 8 (7.30pm). The concert will have music and carols for Advent and include Christmas works by Palestrina and Byrd.

A member said: “If you are interested in singing, and can sing in tune, and would like to join the Choral Society, do come to the first practice of the new season.

“The ability to sight-read music would be helpful but is not essential, as enthusiasm and willingness to learn new music are more important.”
