FORMER choir members are invited to join current singers to celebrate the choirmaster’s 30th anniversary.

Nick Pitts took charge of Spalding Parish Church choir when he was just 25 and since then has worked hard to maintain the loyalty and enthusiasm of boys who take part.

To mark his commitment, there will be a party at the church hall, The Vista, on Monday, May 2, from 7pm and organisers hope as many former members as possible will join in.

Choir member David Jones said: “He works really hard for the choir and runs it almost like a boys’ club, with outings to the seaside, ice-skating and ten-pin bowling as well as the singing.

“We really felt we needed to mark the 30th annivesary of his charge because he does such a good job.”

Mr Pitts has suggested that anyone who wishes to make a donation on the night can do so, and all proceeds will go to the choir’s funds.
