Spalding goes (nut)crackers over Christmas

Nutcracker soldiers will take point in Spalding town centre this December and seasonal shoppers can enter a free competition to find them with the chance of winning a fabulous prize.

The Spalding Nutcracker Trail has been created by South Holland District Council's community development team working with local businesses.

The trail will be open from December 7-22, and14 soldiers will be hidden in shops across the town centre.

The shops and businesses taking part include Bookmark, South Holland Centre, Hills Department Store, Charmed Interiors and Lloyds Pharmacy, with trail booklets available to collect to help guide participants on their festive foray around Spalding.

Booklets can be collected for free from Ayscoughfee Hall, the Council's Priory Road offices, at Spalding Christmas Celebration on December 8 and at all participating businesses. The booklet will also include an entry form for anyone who completes the trail to be entered into a prize draw.

After the trail has been completed and all the Nutcracker names have been entered into the booklet, the participant will be able to post their entry form at one of the special post boxes located at the South Holland Centre and the Council offices on Priory Road.
