RUMOURS are rife that an X Factor finalist has been seen out and about in South Holland.
But shoppers in Spalding can be forgiven for believing they have seen show diva Johnny Robinson...it’s actually Sarah Box!
The lookalike from Weston Hills has been turning heads wherever she goes because of the striking similarities between her and the stage star.
“People just won’t leave me alone,” she said. “Everyone keeps saying that I have to do something like become his impersonator.
“My kids sit there and go ‘put the glasses on and pretend to be him’.”
Good sport Sarah, who lives in Broadgate, is taking the likeness in her stride - and has even donned a Johnny-style suit to amuse her family and friends.
Even without a suit and glasses, people are still passing Sarah in the street and whispering about whether the star has decided to take a break in Lincolnshire.
The nation fell in love with 45-year-old Johnny when he sang Etta James’ hit At Last at an audition at London’s O2 arena.
He survived the show’s boot camp to make it through to the live Saturday night shows to sing for judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos.
Sarah said: “To start with I was actually making fun of him. I thought he was put in there for a laugh but he can really sing.
“My kids were really laughing but I couldn’t see the similarity. My eldest daughter told me to take a look at him and to borrow her glasses.
“I put them on and said ‘oh my God’.”
Daughters Sophie (12) and Jade (15) have since posted photos of Sarah on Facebook and friends have started calling her Johnny.
There’s only a few months difference in age between Sarah and Johnny but that’s where the similarities end - she doesn’t share his talent for singing.
She added: “I can dance but I can’t sing. Johnny is actually my second favourite on the show. I think Marcus is fantastic.”
Johnny, who is from Harrow, will appear on television screens again on Saturday for a Halloween-themed show.
