There was a large gathering at Holbeach Primary Academy as the sun shone brightly for the annual summer sports day.

Key Stage 2 pupils took to the field in the morning, competing in events such as the obstacle course, hula hoop and the relay race.

Four teams took part - Blue, Red, Yellow and Green - with Blue emerging as the overall winners.

Teacher at the Boston Road South school, Clive Green, said it was a close contest as only seven points separated the teams at the end of the competition.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of Key Stage 1 pupils in a non-competitive event.

Pupils went around 12 stations designed to improve their fitness and then took part in track events.

Many parents, grandparents, family members and friends came along on the day to support and cheer on the children.
