People in South Holland who want to make new friends and walk at the same time can join a group in the area.

The Community Minds Matter Walking Group, run by Vanessa Browning, meets at Ayscoughfee Gardens in Spalding every Thursday from 2pm-4pm.

The group is aimed at people who are overcoming depression, anxiety, loneliness and other mental health issues.

Vanessa said: "The aim of the group is to get people to meet and talk with others who might be in the same position as themselves.

"We accept anyone, no matter who they are and what they are going through, as long as they are aged over 18."

Vanessa also gave details of a group working to keep Spalding tidy which also meets at Ayscoughfee Gardens on Sundays between 12pm until 4pm.

She said: "We go around picking up litter, whilst opening up to each other about how we feel."
