Transporter crash on B1166 near Whaplode Drove leads to company investigation as driver released from hospital




An investigation has started into why a transporter carrying vehicles came off a road near Whaplode Drove, with its driver needing hospital treatment.

The transporter was believed to be carrying pick-ups and vehicles to W.H. Brand dealership in Whaplode Drove when it left the B1166 Hulls Drove and ended up on its side in a roadside ditch.

It happened at about 1.20pm on Thursday and the driver was taken by ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital.

The transporter belonged to D.F. Services (Kent) Ltd whose operations director Craig Arthur said: "There was an incident on Thursday and the company is currently investigating what happened.

"We do not have all the facts at the moment, but we can confirm that driver is out of hospital and is okay."

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: "The driver attended hospital but their injuries were not believed to be serious."
