The Inner Wheel Club raised £650 for the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, having been inspired by a speaker.

Former president Jenny Symonds presented the money to air ambulance fundraiser Faye Nam at the Welland Yacht Club.

Mrs Symonds decided to support the cause after hearing a visitor to the club's story.

"We had a speaker in who gave us a moving talk when she had an accident and needed the air ambulance. We thought they deserved the money," Mrs Symonds said.

The air ambulance was chosen as this year's 'special charity' by Mrs Symonds, having previously supported causes such as the Lighthouse Project and Johnson Hospital.
