Sutterton vets were overwhelmed with public response to help lurcher who was injured in a road accident

A stray dog which had been hurt in a car accident is recovering after the public raised more than £1,000 for an emergency operation.

Trooper the Lurcher had been brought into South Lincs Vets Group’s hospital in Sutterton on October 2 with a badly fractured back leg after being found by kind passers-by.

He urgently needed an operation to repair the damage to his leg and the practice was overwhelmed to receive £1,075 in donations from the public to pay for this surgery.
