SPALDING’S Broad Street Methodist Church is housing a new information desk for First Contact, which provides a gateway to a wide range of services for the over 60s.

Jointly managed by Age UK and Lincolnshire County Council, First Contact can put people in touch with experts who give advice on things like home and fire safety, housing matters, adult social care, energy efficiency, falls, money, benefits, clubs and activity groups.

The desk will open from 10am to 2pm every Tuesday during the church coffee morning.

First Contact field coordinator Jayne Thomas said: “First Contact volunteers provide high quality information, help people complete checklists, offer one to one support to people who may need face to face help accessing information and can provide a befriending service.”
