Standing for South Holland District Council was the purr-fect solution for mum-of-two and cattery owner Coun Jane King when she wanted more challenge in her life.

It’s more the little things we do that can make the difference

In the May elections, Independent Coun King won her second term as ward councillor. She said: “I feel very honoured to have a second term, especially when we lost some good Independent councillors.

“But that’s what happens when district elections run alongside the General Election.

“It can be frustrating when you first start because you soon learn you can’t change everything because of red tape and other obstacles.

“But I’m more confident.

“It’s more the little things we can do that make the difference.

“Like using our budgets to mend a playhouse that otherwise children wouldn’t be able to use.

“I work closely with the other Conservative ward councillors Robert Clark and Neville Johnson on several projects because together we can do more.”
