Ray Isaacs has always adopted a strict attitude to discipline throughout his teaching career at the Gleed School.
He says: “I always try to keep a firm hand, especially when they come in in Year 7. Be firm with them and by the time they get to Years 10 and 11 you have their respect. It does work.
“They are getting discipline now and they needed it two years ago, but they know where they stand.”
Ray’s years at the school have been recognised by head of academy Will Scott, who called it “an astonishing achievement”.
He said: “It’s incredible to give so much over the years to the same institution.”
There is another aspect to Ray’s life that has lasted a long time. He has played hockey in Market Deeping for 46 years, competing in the East League.
