Spalding men accused of kidnap

Two men originally from Poland have appeared in court on charges of kidnap, assault and intimidation.

Pawel Wapniewski (34), now living in King's Cliffe near Peterborough but who at the time was living at Wedgewood Drive, Spalding, faces allegations that he kidnapped Aleksy Dudek in Spalding on February 1 and that he assaulted him by beating on January 29.

He also faces an allegation that, between February 5 and 24 at Spalding, he intimated a witness by telling her to withdraw her statement to the police.

Marcin Siemianowski (36), of Bourne Road, Spalding, faces a joint charge with Pawel Wapniewski of kidnapping Aleksy Dudek.

No pleas were entered by either men and both were sent on unconditional bail for trial at Lincoln Crown Court, with a first appearance on September 20.
