Members of Crowland in Bloom have pulled out all the stops in their bid to win an award in the East Midland in Bloom competition.
Judges who visited this week will have seen new planters throughout the town.
And the committee also worked tirelessly cleaning up grot spots, especially the old bus stop in West Street.
It was transformed from a “dismal, dingy and dark” place to a welcoming area, repainted and with hanging baskets outside.
“Last year it was raining all day, but this year the judges were met by glorious sunsgine,” said chairman Ros Knight.
“Everything looked really nice and we really made a big effort to score well with the judges.”
Winners will be revealed in Skegness on September 11.
