Over the past year we have read several stories about illegal immigrants arriving in South Holland in the back of lorries.
More recently we have had these stories building up each week, but there seems to be no follow up stories on what happens to these people next. To me, and I guess to several fellow voters this is a key point on who to vote for come election time and at the moment there is only one party listening.
In the last 12 months alone what is the total figure for those caught in South Holland?
The law as it stands is that these people fleeing from their native countries should stop at the first safe country that they come across – this is NOT England.
Recent events have seen illegal immigrants found in lorries at Spalding, Pinchbeck and Cowbit and this leads me to my series of questions:
1 – In the last 12 months alone what is the total figure for those caught in South Holland?
2 – Of those caught, how many are deported back?
3 – What is the total cost in South Holland in dealing with illegal immigrants?
4 – What is the total price of the loss of produce that is destroyed by these people while travelling ?
One question that cannot be answere is how many slip off these lorries and are now in our society without any detection.
Our immigration control at the ports is on the point of non existent, and we as voters should be very worried about which party is going to take immigration issues seriously. We should also be concerned at the lack of transparency when it comes to the numbers of, and the action taken on the arrivals to South Holland.
I hope now that the relevant authorities will answer these questions.
