South Holland council tax payers could see bill increase
Council tax payers in South Holland are likely to see an increased figure on their bill as part of new financial plans.
At a virtual South Holland District Council cabinet meeting this morning (Tuesday) to discuss the draft budget for 2021/2022, councillors heard that it is proposed that there is to be an annual increase of £4.95 in council tax for Band D properties.
Speaking at the meeting Coun Peter Coupland, deputy leader of the cabinet and portfolio holder for finance, strategy, partnerships, said that the budget figures discussed would be subject to adjustments before a further draft is to be presented to cabinet on February 16.
On closing the meeting, South Holland District Council leader Gary Porter echoed this message. He said: "These papers are going out for consultation and Peter has reminded you that the next time you see them the numbers will be different, because that's the world we are living in.
"Let's hope they are different in a positive way, rather than a negative way, but different they will be."
