Firefighters and animal rescue team pull horse out of ditch in Deeping St James on Palm Sunday

A horse has been rescued after it found itself trapped in a ditch in Deeping St James this morning (Sunday).

Firefighters from Market Deeping and an animal rescue team from Spalding were called to Eastgate, between Deeping St James and Deeping Gate, just after 10.40am.

The rescuing team used specialist animal strops to haul the horse out of the ditch and back on to all four hooves.

However, it is not known whether the horse was hurt in any way.
