South Holland travelmakers due to travel to Portugal this weekend are awaiting decision from tour operators following Government decision
Holidaymakers who are due to fly this weekend are awaiting a decision from their tour operators after the Government changed Portugal's travel restriction level.
Holiday With Us, which has a base in Spalding, say that no-one has cancelled their holidays to the country following yesterday's decision to move Portugal from the green list to amber.
From Tuesday, UK travellers will have to quarantine for 10 days after visiting Portugal. The Government says it has taken this decision due to rising numbers of Covid cases.
Holiday With Us sales consultant James Lowery said that some people have been affected by the decision but have the option to amend or move their holiday dates.
He said that the firm currently does not have anyone in Portugal but there customers who are due to travel over the weekend.
Mr Lowery said: "We have not had anyone cancel as we are still awaiting updates from tour operators who are making a decision later today.
"Within the travel industry, people are really frustrated as consumer confidence is really low.
"It (the decision) has a knock-on impact on consumer confidence and a lot have struggled. We have been really lucky as we have not been impacted too badly. People are now making the decision on whether they are going to book later this year or hold off until next year."
