Holbeach Town Band looked smart in their new uniform on Sunday afternoon as they performed in Ayscoughfee Gardens, Spalding, as part of the Music in the Gardens series of concerts.
The band’s new uniform consists of a waistcoat (in the band’s traditional colour of purple) with tie. The band also has a new logo which is on the waistcoats, ties, music stand banners and band hats (although the hats have not been delivered yet).
The new uniforms have been paid for through funding from the Grange Farm Wind Project and funding from district councillors, for which the band is extremely grateful.
The band has also received a grant from Chosen Charity in Holbeach which will be used to buy some more student instruments for the Learn to Play Week from August 1 to 5. The band always enjoys performing in Ayscoughfee Gardens. It was a lovely sunny afternoon although rather breezy. They played a varied programme of music to suit most tastes, including a selections of James Bond themes, the Grease musical, soul and patriotic music.
