Barber shop in Holbeach present gift to Jerry Green dog rescue

A Holbeach barber shop was a cut above when staff raised money for dog rescue centre Jerry Green.

Barber Karen Elsey, who works at the Barber Shoppe in High Street, Holbeach, came up with the idea to hold a raffle over Easter to boost funds for the charity.

Jerry Green's south Lincolnshire centre, based at Algarkirk, is currently fundraising for new kennels.

Prizes were donated by Karen and staff and £324 was raised for the rescue centre through raffle tickets bought by customers.

Karen said: "I am quite big on my animal charities and I had to give a dog up once so it is close to my heart."

Her daughter Leah (10), and friend Chloe Eynott, also helped with fundraising by hitting the street with homemade cakes.
