Spalding's Ayscoughfee Hall and Museum re-open to the public

Ayscoughfee Hall and Museum has now finally re-opened to the public.

Spalding's 'jewel in the crown' had been shut during the pandemic - although its gardens remained open for visitors.

South Holland District Council had come under pressure to open the historic building - with traders saying it would help attract people back to the town.

This afternoon the council revealed that it had opened today.

Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for communities and facilities, said: "We wish to invite previous visitors to return and also welcome new people to come here to enjoy this asset which is a jewel in the crown here in Spalding and is part of the wider offering to welcome people back to Spalding town centre."

He added that the gardens were an 'important asset' and had been enjoyed by many people during the period of Covid restrictions.
