High hopes for Long Sutton as judges pay a big visit

One town is keeping its fingers crossed after a special judges visit took place.

The team behind Long Sutton in Bloom who work tirelessly to ensure that the town is looking its best were paid a visit by esteemed judges Stephen Dando and Marian McClelland.

The pair, from East Midlands in Bloom, were given a tour of the town to see the results of the Bloomers’ fantastic work.

The judges were met at the Royal British Legion by members of Long Sutton in Bloom and were then taken on a tour of the town by Barry Meade and Kay Jenkinson.

To top it all off, the judges then enjoyed afternoon tea with the Bloomers.

Speaking after the visit, Kay, who is chairman of Long Sutton in Bloom, said: “Stephen and Marian were very charming and made complimentary comments.

“We will keep our fingers crossed for some good results.”

The town takes part in the Small Town category and last year gained a silver medal.
