Four women are busy fundraising for a night time cycling challenge.

Action for Charity’s Women V Cancer is a series of women-only cycle ride challenges that is returning to London for its second year.

Lollipop lady for Pinchbeck East Primary School Karen Tidwell, her daughter Sandra Tidwell-Rawlins, Kerry Oliver from Holbeach and Paula Fitzjohn from Northampton have joined together to make a team.

The ride will be attended by 2,000 other women, all raising money for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Trust.

Karen’s team are starting out at 9pm on Saturday, May 30, at the Windsor racecourse.

The route is 100km (62 miles) around London and also includes passing Buckingham Palace. It ends back at the racecourse.

Karen said: “We are hoping to complete the ride within six hours.

“The roads won’t be closed so we’ll have traffic to watch out for too.

“The minimum amount we have to raise is £199 each, plus an entry fee of £39.”

Action for Charity has been providing successful fundraising event management services to UK charities for more than 15 years and helped to raise millions for their charity partners, with several overseas cycling and trekking challenges.

Women V Cancer cycling challenges have now raised £5million for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.
